Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis and Minister of Health Renward Wells took part in a recommissioning ceremony at the newly renovated Rand Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Grand Bahama, on Friday, April 23.

The renovation covers wards and departments at the Rand Memorial Hospital that suffered severe damage from ‘superstorm’ Hurricane Dorian in 2019. The Minnis administration allocated $21 million to the project.

The ceremony marked the completion of the first phase of renovations, including the Lula Knowles Paediatrics Ward, the Maternal & Child Health Block, the Medical/Surgical Block, the Critical Care Block, Operating Theatre, Chapel, Healing Garden, and Medical/Surgical Ward Three.
