Volcano Eruption On St. Vincent

La Soufrière , a 4,049 foot volcano on St. Vincent erupted early Friday. A more than two-mile high cloud of ash was seen bellowing above the island just hours after communities were ordered to evacuate.

St. Vincent based news outlet, iWitness News, reported on the evacuation orders issued by the country’s prime minister, Ralph Gonsalves, late yesterday. Empty cruise ships are headed to the island to assist with evacuations.
